So You Think You Can Write

Introduction:

I can't believe I am writing my first blog at 73 years young, but here goes. I live in a small Kansas community, Paola, Kansas the County seat of Miami County Kansas, about 50 miles South of Kansas City, Missouri. I am retired but pursuing my photography, a life long dream. I did a three year enlistment in the United States Army Signal Corps after graduating from high school. I went to work for Western Electric two weeks after my discharge from the military and retired after 33 years of service. I ran my own machine shop for ten years after retiring from Western Electric and shut it down in 2000. Now its just me my wife, two dogs, and my cameras. You can follow my photographs at https://plus.google.com/+BillCoulter.

I purchased my first film camera while serving in Germany in 1960. Each military post had a free photography lab for all servicemen. You could wind your own film onto your spool, shoot the photographs, develop the film and print copies. So began my lifetime interest in photography. More to come on this subject later. I like to feature and share photographs from the area where I live.

I love to play golf. Now that's a sport that can produce some great stories also. Yes, I was the Country Club Senior Scratch Champion a few years back but most of that talent has slipped away. I acquired the nick name "Billy-One-Putt"from one of my golfing buddies, another good story yet to come.

Introductions are mundane and boring for the most part unless you are Robin Thicke. The good stuff is yet to come. I can think of at least five or six good stories from my first paragraph.

I feel like a race horse at the starting gate.................let the fun begin.

    1. Well I just wanted to give it my best shot. It's like going down a new road not knowing whats around the next turn so I need to drive slow until this road becomes familiar. Not sure how long that will take. One thing is for sure I can't drive 55! Squid has been a big help in getting me started. I need him to help me jazz up my home page with a cool theme then I should be good to go.
